What's on in the Local Area



The whole district is rich in flora and fauna and standing proudly over all, are the historic mine engine houses, imposing emblems of Cornwall’s heritage. There's much to see and do both in the village and in the surrounding area.

Gardens

There are several marvellous gardens to visit, including The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project which is 45 minutes away. The St Agnes Hotel offers an ideal base to explore and enjoy Cornwall.

Beaches

Around St Agnes there are a host of wonderful beaches to visit. Trevaunance Cove, (Also known as 'St Agnes Beach') which has excellent family facilities, is approximately a 10 minute walk away. For those less energetically inclined, a short drive away are the fascinating rocky cove at Trevellas Porth and the National Trust owned Chapel Porth with its long stretches of fine sand.

Walking

The Cornish Coastal Footpath is only 15 minutes walk away. The view from the coast path near St Agnes is a spectacular panorama, stretching from Trevose Head (near Padstow) all the way to St Ives Harbour.

Stalls and entertainment through the main street of the village.

The Giant Bolster Pageant

Procession and performance at Chapel Porth of the tale of Bolster the Giant.

St Agnes Summer Ball

Annual ball held in a large Marquee.

Carnival Week

Street Procession on Saturday plus various events over the week. Events include Caribbean Evening with Steel Band and film screenings.

RNLI (Lifeboat) Day

RNLI Day is a spectacular event and great day out for the whole family. Marvel at the fantastic displays from the Blue Peter Lifeboat, helicopter rescue, lifeguard demo, jet ski rescue, flare display and HM Coastguard cliff rescue. For the kids, there is also face painting, a sand castle competition, quizzes, prizes and raffles. A truly great day out, with all money raised going to the RNLI.
